Historical anecdotes about Moutai liquor 02

At that time, the Guizhou Provincial Government took the baijiu from two distilleries in Maotai Town to Panama’s California for the World Exposition. Since all the products from around the world were presented in exquisitely designed packaging and with sophisticated styles, our product—simply a batch of bulk liquor stored in an earthen jar—received little attention during the exhibition and was even denied tasting by the judges. The exhibitor, feeling deeply frustrated that such a fine liquor had been treated so unfairly, became furious and smashed the earthen jar on the ground. The rich aroma of the liquor immediately filled the entire exhibition hall, its fragrance spreading far and wide. This unexpected turn of events caught the attention of the former U.S. President Roosevelt and the judges, catapulting the liquor to instant fame and earning it the gold medal.
